kismet,
why are you looking at those specific areas?

None of the Brisbane based people who lurk here seem to know anything much
about these areas.
One poster said recently said a few words, which I agree with -
I don't know too much about the areas, but have the impression that they
are not great areas, although I couldn't tell you why I have that
impression.

Have you been there? Do you have family there? or is it because the housing
is cheap?

Hi
My husbands sister and parents are in Regents Park and I am considering it myself. It`s a fairly new suburb but easily commutable to the city, My sister and brother in law both work in the city. I'ts not in the middle of nowhere! There is a a large shopping centre which was built about 10 yrs ago. If you email me I'll put you in touch with my sister in law and she'll give you the whole story.Have a look at www.property.com.au post code 4118 will show you properties all around the area including Forestdale which has nice acreage

Cheers
Susan

Hi Kismet,
All the three places that you metioned are surburbia and have some nice
brick housing.
I used to live about 5 minutes down the road in Greenbank which was on 1
acre, you can pick up nice acre blocks a little further out in Munruben and
Jimboomba.(That is only about a five minute drive from the area's you
metioned.)
All area's are dodgy if you have the wrong neighbours next door.
There are plenty of schools, shops, pubs and fast food outlets in Browns
Plains and surrounding area's.
We will be moving back to oz in a couple of years time and have already
purchased a 2 acre block,(Jimboomba) on which we will build our home.
Hope this helps.
Dean and Karen

Sorry, I can't help... I'm in Brisbane, but don't know too much about those areas. If you had asked about North Brisbane (Redcliffe, Deception Bay, Pine etc, etc), or cannon Hill way (South Brisbane) I could have given you some help.

Cheers
