Default Brisbane Bayside Redlands meetup

Hi,

My husband and I moved over from the UK a few months ago with our son who is almost 1.

We are renting in Cleveland and wondered whether there are any meetups in the Bayside area.

Also if any guys are into golf my husband would be interested especially once the weather cools down and I'm busy with my little boy so if there are any mums with little ones looking for some company ...

Anyway, looking forward to hearing from you.

Cheers, Rebecca

There used to be lots of family meets ups at one time in this area.

I know there are some golfers about. And there is the golf club down in Redland Bay, nice and handy

I am pretty sure there is a regular meet at the Balti in Birkdale, for those English Curry eaters. I avoid those nights, it is too crowded with Brits

Welcome Rebecca, keep a look out for the curry night, its a good way to meet up. Your husband should have no prob finding someone to play golf with,he may want to look out for the next Brisbane V Gold Coast game at Riverlakes down the road from you, that will take place on May 2nd.

Hi,

We are arriving in the area on April 4th and I will be looking for a regular "golf buddie". I will be looking to join a golf club at some point once the dust settles.

One question I was going to post on here but perhaps you can help? How quickly did you get into your rental? We are looking at renting a holiday apt for 2 wks on landing and then looking for a house to rent. I am trying to work out if we will have enough time and what paperwork will be required.

My hubby would be up for a round of golf I suspect!

Some people pick up a rental really quickly and others take a few weeks. We were in a holiday let for 5 weeks.......but I think most people take less time than that!!! Just make sure you have bank statements and if you have a job, maybe a letter from your employer - don't worry if you don't. Make sure you sort out a few people to be referees.

Love

It was good while it lasted. Can you have a forum friend that lasts one post? Perhaps we sounded to enthusiastic bordering on desperate?

LOL! It happens quite often - people post once or twice and then never return.......or maybe that's only on threads that I reply to!!!!!!!!!!
