Brisbane in August

Hi All!

We are visiting Brisbane in August to have a good look round. Just wondered what to expect with the weather

I have been informed that it will be on the cool side - in the 20's - but here in miserable/rainy old UK, that is a heatwave!! ;)

What kind of clothes should we take?

Thanks as always for all your good advice.

Given you wont have acclimatised, I reckon you could get away with short sleeved stuff during the day, but defo warm fleecy long sleeved clothes for first thing in morning and at night.

Enjoy the trip:)

We are flying into Brisbane beginning of August too! Only staying one night there before going to see relatives on the Gold Coast for two weeks. I have asked the same question to our relatives and been told weather is around
25*c, like you say a good summers day here in the Uk!!! Clothes wise, I think I'm going to take what we would use here in the UK for our summertime, plus a fleece, as it can get chilly in the mornings and evenings. Relatives have also said they think it would be OK for kids to swim in their pool or go in the sea. Hope this helps.

We were there last August.Weather was a nice English summers day.Wet n'wild was just about okay. Just right to go exploring, without getting too hot under the collar.

Yes it's a lovely time of the year in August.

We arrived two years ago in July and we were walking about in short sleeved clothes whilst the Aussies were wearing coats and fury boots:cool:

At the time we thought they were bonkers cos to us it felt warm, however 2 years on...we're now acclimatised and are the same:D

For anyone from UK you will LOVE it in August as it's warm during the day but not hot. It is cold though first and last part of the day.

Actually it didn't feel that cold.We swam on the Barrier Reef and that felt really warm.We were in Bundaberg on their coldest day in history in August. The rain was warm. Everyone was shivering. We had to laugh.
