Hello gina,

We liked Brisbane because we felt it was on a parr with the size of Manchester and the cost of living there is affordable to us. It really is a lovely city, but having said that we didn't visit any of the other cities, but we felt it has everything we need to start us off. If you need any other specific info, let me know and I will let you know what I know. People who live there now may be able to help you better. I'm hoping to be out in July this year, when are you hoping to go?

Some people got their visas quicker than we did! most do take a bit longer we were just lucky. I don't think it did us any harm sending our stuff unrequested, it depends on your circumstances I suppose.

I am sure you will love Brisbane, I hope you have a fabulous time!

Hey Gina

We originate from your neck of the woods, Rochdale and its the best thing we ever did moving out of that dump.

I am origin from Rochdale, have lived in Perth for 8 years, moving to the gold coast/hinterland in Jan. Husband is going for a trip to look in July, he has previously lived in Brisbane when he went travelling around Oz 12 years ago.

I am also a nurse so hoping to transfer hospitals, work for a ramsay hospital at the moment.

Tired of Perth and looking for new adventures.

As mentioned previously, think of Manchester stick it on the coast and put a big river through the middle, you've got Brisbane, superficially anyway. We're flying out there on the 14th May, heading for the western suburbs initially Bellbowrie / Karana Downs.

I am leaving my husband to go and look, I trust his judgement. It is so expensive and we only have to travel from Perth. We just felt he would be able to bet around the areas quicker without me and the kids. He is going armed with a good camera. At this stage he may also go back to buy a property in Dec on his own.

We feel too isolated in Perth now, we want to get a caravan for weekends away. We have out done down South and we are surrounded by desert everywhere else. Also fancy something semi rural, without being too far away.

i think that when danny gets home from work tonight i will suggest he goes on his own ( hope he doesnt take it as an insult!!) we couldnt both go and leave cam with dannys mum as i have to take him everywhere i think it soooo cruel when parents go on holiday and leave the kid out.

for all of us to go it would cost around £3.500 but if he went on his own it would only be around£1.500 but i would feel slightly jealous but whilst in the immigration process i think the extra £2000 would come in alot more handy for more usefull stuff. what dou you reckon??
