Default Brilliant shipping company!

Hi everyone

Just thought I would post this as people are always looking for good shipping companies.

Our container was delivered yesterday, everything was fine apart from 1 broken cup and 1 broken bowl...so cant complain about that, the UK team Brittania Robins were amazing when they came out to pack, the Oz team were OSS and were also brilliant, customs wanted to destroy or treat our christmas tree as there were pine cones on there, but they eventually settled for taking the pine cones off the branches for $50 so no losses at all and they kept us informed of everything along the way! We had 167 boxes and customs opened quite a few, so a good result we think!

Really really pleased with our shipping experience, was so worried when you read the horror stories, but these guys were great, so if it helps someone else, thats great

Just curious, but were the pine cones in a natural state, or had they been sprayed with, paint or sealer or varnish or anything like that?

Glad you had a good experience with your container and everything was in good order. What size container did you have? Did you have furniture as well as the 167 boxes or did that include the furniture? We have our packers coming on Monday 14th, we've ordered a 40ft container and I'm on box 168 now, that does'nt include the furniture which the company are export wrapping. Just worried that all our belongings won't fit into a 40ft. There is'nt much more to pack now, probably looking at 180 boxes tops. That sounds an aweful lot really. Anyway, glad it is all over for you, you've got the happy task of unpacking it all now, OMG!!!! dreading that bit too. Take care and enjoy Aus!!!

Your boxes will fit in a 40ft container, we've got 217 'packages' & a Triumph sportscar in our 40ft, bear in mind that a number of those packages are the furniture well and truly wrapped up by the packers (and we have some *big* furniture, so they're now huge).

It left the UK in early September and arrived at Melbourne port yesterday, so we're still 2-3 weeks away from seeing it here at the house as customs & quarantine need to inspect it first. It was delayed in Singapore for 3 weeks waiting for the next ship, we've no idea why but it's been a pain in the arse having nothing in the house!

Hi all,

could you give us an idea as to the cost of the shipping of the whole container? and was it door to door including packing at your place in UK?

Ours was fully packed by the movers. Large 4 bed house & a car, 3 days to pack the house and all then into a 40ft container at their warehouse. Think it was just over £7k.

Nice when it works out like that. Must feel like Christmas.
