Re: boxer dog
Yes, unfortunately they do. It's quite complicated too - they need to have certain jabs and certain tests at various stages before they go, you need an import licence, also a made-to-measure crate and need to book in at the kennels (they apparently get very crowded and often have waiting lists).

The good news is that there are companies that will organise it all for you (at a price of course!) - we'll be using Jets for Pets which has it's head office reasonably near us, but I'm sure there are lots of other companies out there.

Re: boxer dog

you can organise it all yourself but is very complicated. we are probably going down the route of an 'agent' to sort it all out. we got a quote from well-known 'airpets' at £3663 and a qoute from petair who were recommeneded to us by a british expats member, they came in at 2600, so £1000 cheaper!

To get a quote they ask for for length height and width as well as weight. to gove you an idea we will be 'shipping' (hate that word) our akita (like a husky) she is 34kg approx 1m long, 30 cm wide and 90cm tall.

currently quaranine for 30 days at Sydney is $1400AUD on top of vaccinations and blood work.

We flew two Boxer dogs over in 2008. We used Airpets and had no problem with airlines refusing to carry them.
