Unhappy box missing....

Mornin' all,

After so much fuss and bother we finally got our stuff yesterday afternoon - YAY!

Unfortunately one item is missing - it is the bed-end so kinda screws up the whole bed if it doesn't turn up. Anyone else had anything missing on delivery? Shipping company are trying to locate it - not feeling too confident of receiving it.

Good news is that everything passed quarantine - FYI we had 80 packages total and probably 20 of them were opened. They included bike, golf clubs, wooden chest, furniture, kitchen items etc.

So far only one breakage - a decorative bowl, but have not opened the kitchenware yet.... guess what my job is today??? Is pishing with rain though so pleased to be inside.....

We had a couple of boxes go missing. Sadly they never turned up but the insurance company were happy to settle. We had unreal amounts of damage though - mental note to never use Allied Pickfords again !

Hope the box turns up but good to hear that damage has been minimal. Enjoy Oz. Lovely weather in Melbourne just now - expect it to be pishing soon though!

Hiya,

Yer we heard some bad threads about AP so we used Excess Baggage. It is not something someone would steal though, so it has just got lost being moved between containers etc. We shared a container so maybe the other people got it?? who knows..... bed wasnt insured for much so not sure if we will claim if it doesnt show....

Read your other thread about your morning - glad you are experiencing some positive things! A lot of folk seem to be having a hard time, so good post!

Allied Pickfords are awful - we lost about 10 % of our stuff either through boxes going missing or damage to what they manage to hold on to! Terrible customer service in Australia and they really didn't care that they had lost our stuff.

Never mind, at least 90% of it was okay

glad to see you can still look at the glass as half full!

Just spoke to Kent - they counted 79 packages off the boat in Brisbane, and noted that there were 80 listed on the inventory. Seems nothing else happened - no one called us, no one called Excess Baggage in London. Nothing.

So I have emailed Excess Baggage about it, and waiting for a return call from Kent as to what they are doing to help.

ugh!

unpacking nearly done - lost only one wine glass and the dish to breakages so can't complain about that!

We had one box go missing containing all the bed linen and towels, we were told that it didn't come off the ship with the rest. Spoke to PSS who simply said they would look for it and see if it turned up, never heard from them again. They said to claim on insurance but it was not insured as we only got cover for the larger items. We also had things go missing like flasks and some saucepans, measuring jugs etc. which I remember them packing but never saw them again, a bit of a mystery.

All of our boxes arrived, none had been opened but we are still missing a bedside lamp (one of a pair) and various kitchen utensils

The good news is that if it's a bed head....then it's likely to be of no use to anyone so not likely to have been stolen. There's a good chance it could turn up.

We had quite a few things go missing. Mainly expensive ornaments and gifts [bought as leaving pressies, so sentimental].....and my son's PS2. We couldn't be arsed claiming either cos by the time we noticed, we were too engrossed in starting our new lives without having to fight the insurance company. We put it down to experience and the "joys" of emigrating.

Within a few months of moving here we found out a work colleague dropped dead playing footy one Sunday. He Left two young daughters

That put things in to perspective for me.

Good luck with finding the missing stuff

[BTW....I'm not advocating not claiming. I'm just daft.....and lazy ]
