We had them reserved for a week whilst we decided whether to go for it or not, but prices increase in July so we bit the bullet.
Just need the house dates to fall in line, give in notice at work and we are off.
Also we got 40kg baggage allowance, but Singapore Airlines say thay are ceasing this for flights booked after 12th May, and said other companies are doing that too.
Very glad to have something to plan for at last...

Hi yafm, just started getting quotes, first one said we need 40' container - 5 firking grand !!
- Waiting for the rest to visit before we start selling furniture, and leave behind the heirlooms!
Thanks Jockney, not sure we'll have room for you all in our 40kg, might have to sneak the piano on the plane!
Update you laters

Hi Mash
Bet you're getting really excited
We're all jealous that you're going but our time will come soon no doubt.
The very best of luck to you!!!
In terms of removals, I have had several quotes between £4742 and £5545 for a 40 foot container.
However one company called AVM ( http://www.avm-storage-shipping.co.uk/ ) quoted £2700 for a 40 foot, but the chap didn't sound too clued up.
If you are somewhere in between a 20 foot (1050 Cu ft) and a 40 foot (1552 Cu feet) you may consider a 20 foot and send the balance of items as groupage (ie a shared container). You could put the less urgent items in groupage as this takes a few extra weeks and save money that way.
All the very best
