Default Boarding kennel fee's in perth for those all ready here.

Hi
We were thinking about getting a dog. However next year we will be returning to England for a holiday and we started wondering about the cost of boarding it. Does anyone have experience of this. I tried a quick search but only came up with costs related to shipping them over not actual costs for those already resident here. Also would like any recommendation's for kennels SOR.

Many thanks

Elaine

Take a look at http://www.anzpetsit.com they have a list of pet minders and sitters who will care for your dog in their home or your home. Sometimes it can be cheaper than kennels and is a lot nicer for your pet. I think the same site also offers an online pet first aid course.

The breeder where we got our dog also does boarding. I recommend them highly! My boy loves going to the kennels since he gets spoiled rotton there. They give the dogs lots of love and lots of exercise time. I can send you the information via PM when I get home tonight. (At work right now)

Forgot to say they charge us between $12-$15 per day. Mind you, I send a huge bag of food and toys and his favourite blankie with him so they don't have to worry about any of that.

This is where my dog goes. It is more expensive than you are quoting but it came recommended and as a new pet owner I wanted personal recommendations.

I have a friend (married couple) who house sit for people when they go away, specialising in looking after pets etc. If you're interested I could pass on their details to you.

I have used Northern Suburbs Pet Chalet (Neaves Road, Wanneroo) for the past 3 years for my 2 dogs and have found them to be brilliant. They are $35 per night for both (sharing a kennel), I think it's around $20 for an individual dog. They will provide the food for the dogs and will generally feed them whatever they're used to and bath the dogs on the day you pick them up so they smell all fresh and lovely coming home. I've recommended them to friends who have used them and loved them too.

Just re-read your post and realised you wanted SOR not NOR, duh! It gives you some idea of cost though.

We use them as well and have always found them great. As a back up we use Paws Claws and Beaks which is SOR, this is a much bigger kennels and was recommended to us by a friend who has two german shepherds.

Your replies helped us to make the decision and we now have Jack a flat coated retriever. He is five years old, black, has a really long tongue and seems quite happy with us, mind you its only been 24hrs. Hopefully he will settle in alright.

Thanks everyone
