I AM from Hertfordshire, but I try not to be dense! ...

A Blue Card is needed to work with children under 18. They basically do a check on you and if ok then they issue (from what I gather)

I'm just unsure if you NEED to be a PR to get one, doesn't say anything on the website!

Hi Paul&Nic

I have a blue card and I'm also on a student visa! I don't see how it would matter. They didn't ask for my UK Police Clearance Certificate either (although I do have one). Just fill in the form from the website.

Make sure you don't apply for the construction safety card by mistake

You don't need to provide visa details, so it won't matter. You can just as easily get a criminal record in Aus on a temp visa as you can on a permanent one, and its that which they are looking for.
