Bloody Strayans
I've got a complaint to make.
In London, I never had to buy a quality newspaper. All I had to do was board one of her Majesty's trains and choose from one of the Guardian (wasn't paying so could put up with it), The Independant, The Times, The Daily Telegraph. Even the Mail or the Express for a light read.
In Melbourne 9 times out of 10 all that is available is "Mx" - local free transport rag promoted by Connex.
How thoughtless of people.
Believe it or not I still love living here.

Aussy society is doomed to fail due to the lack of newspaper readership: lets face it, all Aussies are too insecure to read The Age or The Australian in public, or even leave them lying around for other souls, this alone spells the end of mateship too, I reckon.

Nothing to do with the standard of literacy. its just to do with the standard of newspapers I'm sure if you could buy something of the standard of the Times/Telegraph/etc then people would leave them on trains The Australian isn't bad, but still lags behind in the quality stakes.......

The Age is good, as is the Weekend Australian. In my opinion, equates well to a Sunday Times or Telegraph.

Most people in the office are reading the FT online.
How Ironic that "The Sun" is the UK biggest selling, shall we call what it is "soft porn" - come on (no pun ment) its not really a newspaper. How did they come up with the name? What is the UK (market) needing - oh I know more Sun.
PS I miss the Sunday papers.

Though I can't say too much, as the Guardian is one of my favourite papers.

Australian newspapers - by and large - are complete rubbish. The Age and the Australian Financial Review are the only ones worth reading on a regular basis.
