Bloody hell did the heat kill ya all off!!!
Got back, heat nearly knocked us out as we walked out of the airport, is that what happened to the rest of you? Forum is a bit dull, what happened?
I'll liven it up, once I ring the humidity out of me hair, and have a bit more time.
UK was brill really, lots of things to appreciate once you have been away for a spell. Must say we feel a bit like we have landed on Mars being back, its so quiet, too quiet really, cant sleep
no jetlag as we had whole rows of seats to sleep on from Singapore to Bris.
Word of warning for those about to travel, the planes are horribly full of people with full blown flu, I'm not kidding, kids in front of us should have been in hospital! If I had had a mask it would have been on! Cant work out why people travel like that, everyone on plane complaining.
More later, horribly homesick dotty, wishing like hell I was back in the madhouse UK, now wheres me duty free

nice to have you back. Other warning for those travelling is a new case of SARS in China.

Hi Dotty
I read a great post from you a few weeks ago about how you were loving your stay in the Malverns. Aren't they beautiful? The whole area around there is stunning for scenery isn't it? The quaint little tea rooms and little Olde Worlde shops are fab. They're only a short ride away from us and I see the hills from my bedroom window every day when it's clear (the sky...not my windows!Mind you, they're usually mucky!) At night, when they're all lit up it looks like a thousand twinkling golden stars! Gawd...I'm pathetic!!
Glad you had a good time and welcome back!

Dotty, are you daft as a brush or what? The Malverns are lovely to look at, the pubs maybe good, but what are you alluding to that you appreciate after you've been away awhile?
Uncommercialised Britain, happy smiling faces, welcoming people, easy parking, fantastic shopping in Warwick House and the other 10 shops, no snobbery. If you'd landed in Malvern as an outsider expecting to fit in - come on, Brisbane is a piece of cake.

Hiya Dotty
Glad to hear you had a great holiday. Was a bit concerned about the flu business on the plane though as the last time we went my youngest went down with a severe type of pneumonia the last time.
We are due to fly on 17 Jan. Please keep us updated on the Sars outbreak Donna.
Thanks
Debs

Welcome home Dotty; glad you had a good time. Think most of them are still recovering from a good Christmas, thats why its so quiet round here! Attempts to liven the place up are falling flat cos theres no-one out there to talk to!!

Back to the grindstone next Monday morning Debsy, (5th Jan!!).
Christmas was odd - I seem to be marrying into a family that just uses it as an excuse for a large meal, eaten at maximum speed, rapid ripping open & throwing aside of presents (so you don't know who got what or whether they liked it!), and then leave for home, all within 4 hours.
MIL has gone home after repeatedly telling me I should be getting stressed about my wedding - seems to be missing the point that half the idea of a low-key wedding is to reduce the stress levels!
Funniest pressie - MIL gave me some writing paper in a box, the sort that has been in the window of the charity shop for so long that it has faded to yellow (she thought it was a nice gold colour). Looked at it last night - its so past it that the envelopes have actually sealed themselves shut!!! OooopS! I least I have an excuse not to use them!
How was your Christmas Debsy???

Yea, you're quite right Sue. Some of us saddos though had to keep escaping onto the forum to avoid discussions about whether paw-paws are 3 cents cheaper in BiLo, how its extravagant to spend $9 on sparkling wine, and other such exciting stuff. As for the fact that on Boxing Day I had a lie-in till EIGHT AM - criminal offence!!!!
Have to say that I actually yearned to be spending Christmas in the UK where my mates were cheerful, no-one tutted when I said the word "shopping", and at least over there it FELT like Christmas!!!!
