Default Blood sausage AKA black pudding?

We set out yesterday morning to make a full wenglish brekkie, to include black pudding but we spent an hour searching to no avail. Anyone know where they sell it? We tried woolworths, coles, action and several local delli type places and they looked at us stupid when we explained we wanted to eat fried pigs blood! Any ideas?

There is a Butcher's on Bondi road selling it. Nice and convenient for those in Brissie. DJs food hall probably sells it as well. They do Haggis.

From what I saw on TV about a month ago, (unfortunately) I dont think Brisbane DJs food hall is as good as Melbourne and Sydney I think there's talk of making it larger next year though.

Afraid I can't stand black pudding, but in a similar vein if anyone can track down a source of UNSMOKED bacon, I'll be their friend for life! I have never really liked the taste of smoked, but it seems thats all that Aussies eat.....

Me too I don't mind the smoked stuff but Deb loathes it. I'm sure ABCD said it was available in NSW.
I've spoken to a lot of the butchers in the area and all of them sell smoked bacon most had never heard of any normal stuff, it gets fustrating asking for a lump of dead pig no smoke just dead pig.
We've got a fair few ferral pigs close by to us they do so much damage to crops the locals hunt them with dogs. They then keep them alive for a couple of weeks feed them up on corn and worm them before butchering them. I've put my name down for a leg. Let you know how it tastes after Christmas

Thanks For Debs sake I hope it tastes unsmoked.

You can get unsmoked in Tassie, I know cos I've eaten it there. Had a long chat with a local butcher who used to sell it - he used to work for a Pom! - but that was about 10 years ago, and he reckons now you can't get it in Queensland at all. The other two I tried were hopeless - one said 'yeah, we sell it, but over here its called Pork Chops'..........The Bloke had to remove me fast! Ot is frustrating isn't it - why can't they just leave some untreated? Its not like we are asking for anything extra!
First thing on the menu when I visit the UK is a plate of egg and bacon.....

There are 2 in Sydney, one in the CBD and one at Bondi Junction. Both are quite new. For the cheesey types you can can Brie De Meux there as well. Looks like it is might go soft in the middle unlike the permanently rubbery Supermarket ones.
