it looks like my landlord does not like paying bills..so i would of thought that this rental i am in may be blacklisted...

what happens when i try and get a mortgage in oz and your previous address is blacklisted or dont they bother checking up..

I wouldnt worry Aston man ,it is highley unlikely that they will check and i wouldnt imagine they would be allowed too .
I know technically banks cant do a credit check on your foreign bank account ,so i would imagine your problem would be minor .

Astonman do not worry.
Their is no such thing as a blacklist. Any negative credit history is against the person listed and not anyone else who recides or will recide at the property.

so chaps,thank you by the way,are you saying that if someone from the u.k done a duck without paying credit cards,gas,water,elec,etc.etc.there would be no comeback

I'm feeling blunt tonight so the answer is that if you dont pay your debts in the UK then this will NOT effect your credit rating in Australia. Recovery action that could be taken is somewhat a different kettle of fish (but for small amounts like utilities and such then the answer would be that provided you can hack ignoring some threatening letters with proposed UK court from debt collectors before they write it off - then you probably would get away with it)

There, I said it now.

Cue the morally outraged poster.....and no I didnt comment as to whether I think it should be done or not but its been at least of couple of weeks since someone brought it up :rofl:

hey dont blame the cent it was me that asked....only found out yesterday that were on a water meter..were all bathing together and only flushing the chain once a week....

by the way centurion..i am going to pay,but it would be nice to get away with something ,,just once...
