The best thing about this site is not reading about what we Brits think we are going to get, it's reading about what we can actually expect to get, good or bad.

The only people who can help us with this info are Aussies or Oz based Brits. At least then we can make an informed decision.

I think we should thank people even for the so-called 'Negative' posts.

Also, I think that sometimes when things aren't so great, it's helpful for Expats to chat about the things that they can't discuss with Aussies etc (they may not understand or want to) or people back home (who may be waiting for something to go wrong- waiting for the sniff of failure - some families can be the pits!), to get things off their chests. People are pretty much themselves on this forum and don't beat around the bush when things aren't great. If that helps them let off a bit of steam, that's fine by me. I may well need the support myself at some point.

Oops, yes, exactly, forgot about that!

THIS SITE IS OFFICIALLY FOR BRITISH EXPATS, so people already out there! So that they can talk to each other, about stuff which outsiders usually don't understand, and that stuff is usually 'negative'.
We as not yet expats (and me not even british :D ) can read their stuff, and it helps us. And because they're so nice ;) they don't mind us asking questions/helping us!

Oh, how many times have we had this discussion now? It's getting boring.. actually no, I enjoy it, lol, otherwise I wouldn't post!

Negatives are good to hear..trouble is if I was honest I don't want to hear negatives! And before anybody starts shouting at me that we all have to face up to negatives...I know, I know!! It's just that I'm so darn scared about all of this, even though I know it's what I want to do. . :scared: :scared:

Yeah, I'm starting to understand that now we are getting closer and closer...
But we are still 8 months away, I really wonder what I'll be like then.
I wasn't nervous about my wedding till the morning of the day, but this'll be different! Or maybe not :confused:

But, we have always said we are seeing what we'll happen, got enough saved to come back, don't care about jobs, and we have no children. We are going for the adventure. I will like filling in the paperwork/sorting stuff. And I'll like the flight. (I'm a bit wierd)

wouldnt ppl rather know the negative sides before making the big move? Or arrive with there rose tinted glasses after spending an absolute fortune and end up coming back after 4 months or so....i know that i would rather find out now what to expect than to wait till it's too late, besides nothing on this site has even slightly put me off from going.
