Here in Bangkok i have a nice big Samsung Tv that we are selling before we leave as we are with most things. But had a look at Bings site and can't believe the prices. Surely this is wrong? For aTv these are the cheapest? http://www.binglee.com.au/
For a fridge these are the biggest and cheapest for the price.

Sorry if these links dont work. But i am shocked by the cost of things. Maybe i should have shipped my stuff from Thailand BY plane ansd still saved money.
So tell me is there any better and cheaper places to buy stuff like this?

I know at Bings they say everything is negotiable. But by how much?
Thanks in advance.

BTW i can get bigger and better TVs and fridges here in Thailand for the about 100 pounds. Whats that in dollars? Don't say because i live in Thailand everything is cheaper. TV's and fridges are not made here unless they are local brands which i wouldnt buy.

I bought a washing machine recently and basically phoned up the Good Guys, Bing Lee, Harvey Norman and a couple of others and played them off eachother. In the end Bing Lee came up with the goods.

If you're that worred about the cost, why not get your stuff brought over from where you are now?

Yes it did have some decent priced stuff, but I ended up finding the same but better elsewhere for the same price

I've basically sold it all already. Though it is still i the partment. The first fridge has gone today. Still got one left. The rest will go on Thursday. Was gonna post/send stuff back. But thought it would be cheaper to buy new when we get there. After looking at these sites. I'm not so sure. Slowly slowly i have told the wife. Bed first the rest will follow. Ther is no rush. Job first, place to stay 2nd and then bed etc etc etc.

If it helps at all, we have spent $30,000 on furnishing a 3 bed house, getting a car ($9999), rego and insurance, kids school fees, eating for 4 weeks and finally a deposit on our house plus four weeks rent.

I hope!

A little off topic. But instead of starting a brand new thread. Where is the best place to buy a double bed or foton? Cheers in advance!
I got a really good mattress at A-mart for 650 and I find haggling difficult but definitely worth it.

Ah Ikea, eases the pain...

I've kitted my whold place out from Ikea. Look it up in the catalogue, check it fits using the handy measurements, make sure they have one on the website, go and buy it!

...And a load of other gubbins from the market place that I didn't need!

Hi Booby,

No I don't mind at all. Our car is a 1998 Ford Falcon AU, cost $9999. Its got a full body kit, racing tyres, sports suspension and lots of other stuff (I stopped listening by then ) and it's a 4 litre - 6 cylinder

Here's a piccy anyway.

Rego was $686 for 6 months :scared: That did include the transfer fee ($21)

Fully comp insurance cost us $350 for a year.

Petrol we spend anything between $20 - $50 a week. But we don't work yet, so thats taking kids to school, a couple of days out either shopping or to the beach and a few other short trips a week. If we do go out more we may spend another $20 or so.

cheers wendy very nice car by the way, maybe a bit too powerful being as though i'm driving a 1.2l clio at the moment could you please define what rego is and why the high cost compared to the insurance as i always thought the insurance would be the most expensive item thanks once again bobby

I'm not 100% on rego, but I think its basically road tax and it includes compulsory insurance. The insurance covers damage to persons (not the car). Rego is calculated on the size and value of the car, so the bigger the car the more you will pay, also the more your car is valued at the more it will cost.
