Bills, help me work out my budget
I'm thinking of NSW around the Sydney area ish and am just trying to work out what kind of bills i'd expect for day to day living.
Been looking on realestate.com.au and found plenty of places i like for around the $200 per week mark, will be living on my own till i find someone out there.
So, weekly bills....
Rent $200
council tax ??
phone ??
water ??
electricty ??
food ??
and so on......
Thanks in advance btw

No council tax.
Phone - depends on your usage and whether you get a home line or use mobile. Allow $20 p/w for now.
Water - Covered by landlord, unless you use excess.
Elec - Wouldn't think it would be more than $15 per week for a single person. Obviously also depends on usage (whether you have air con or not)
Food - For one person, I would budget for $80-100 p/w. Could be more depending if you eat out, buy lunch etc..

The water bill depends on your lease agreement. Mr GG and I pay the water bill.
Just out of interest, which area are you looking at that the rent is so low?

in rental units the water usage is paid by the landlord, house rentals paid by the tenant.... as i said this has been my experience

Me too. I've just paid a $800 electric bill and $580 water bill. My only advice, is after you've worked out what you think it might be, double it and that should cover all the other bills you aparently don't get charged for out here.
I wish I'd rented!! I've got 2 council tax bills to pay. One for the house and one for the land!
