The big day is here!
Yup, all the months of planning and waiting are over. We've said goodbye to everyone (and what a busy weekend we had doing that!); everything is now packed, and our flight leaves Heathrow in just under 9 hours time. Our cat is also flying out in about 8 hours time, although the poor thing doesn't realise it (she's sleeping on the sofa next to me right now).
We're going via Hong Kong to break up the flight; we've found it's so much easier doing the trip with a stop-over, the jetlag is nowhere near as bad if you've slept in a proper bed half-way there!
Touchdown in Sydney will be Friday, so here's farewell to English winters and hello to Australian summers (oh, and bye-bye layers of thick jumpers!)
