Default Is it better to buy or rent now, in Melbourne

I was wondering whether it would be wiser to rent a place rather than buy - considering that the house prices have sky rocketed and there is a slump in the rental market.
May be once house prices stabilise/come down it would make sense to buy?

Any thoughts?

Nina

This is a good article but I would be careful as I think this relates mainly to apartments and smaller dwellings in inner city areas. The suburban housing market in good areas of Melbourne remains strong.
