We need to get another credit card before we leave the UK. I know there is one that is supposed to be the best for use abroad - low fees or best currency conversion rate etc - does anyone know which card this is? I think it might be alliance and leicester or nationwide. Can't remember now that I need to apply for one!

Yep, get a Nationwide debit card (on a Flexaccount current account) and a Nationwide credit card (paid automatically each month from your Flexaccount). No charges for using either of these 2 cards

I just use my First Direct Visa card and then pay the bill online as we still have our bank account. We don't get charged a fee and the exchange rate is always pretty good
