Default Best time to go for a research holiday?

Hi all,

We are thinking about going to Australia for a research holiday later this year. I dont really want to go during their winter though, but definately want to go sometime this year.

We want to visit both Melbourne and Sydney. Does anyone have any advice about a research trip come holiday?

Where is the best place to book flights. accomodations etc?

Thanks for any help.

Hi, We went last April for 4wks weather was good but not to hot - and as they say in Melbourne "you can have all 4 seasons in a day" and we did!!
Dial-a-flight were good just for the flight - but we stayed with relatives. The BIG4 campsites are good if you like that sort of thing!
Hope that helps abit!

October/November is a good time to visit both Sydney and Melbourne.

It's warmer than the UK so you feel you've had an improvement in your weather, but it's not so hot that it's unpleasant travelling about.

Spring is gorgeous (in Sydney, anyway) and all the jacarandas are out in November.

Airfares are reasonable at that time of the year as no school holidays at either end. Airfares rise enormously at the beginning of December.
