But that's why I never head down there. If I wanted Poms, I'd move back to the UK!

Nah, nearly every other post is about Brits moving to Bayside. And more than half the Poms from work live down there.

We go down to the wrong side (South) regularly for a curry and you are right - far too many POMS
Besides, they eat to much cheesecake down there
Try the more civilized north side like North Lakes, Redcliffe Peninsula, Albany Creek, Ferny Hills etc

Definitely don't want to be living in a too british area like Bayside.
Are North Lakes etc reasonably priced?

We are moving to the Sandgate area, a bit coastal and not quite as far out as Redcliffe, also its on the rail system. Schools look good and there are shops, parks etc close by.

Seriously though - the Bulimba / Balmoral/ Hawthorne area is very nice indeed and I believe the schools are supposed to be quite good here too, though no kids, so can't confirm.
Good luck with your choice.

We live in forest lake and think its a great place for kids (I think north lakes and springfield lakes are very similar).
The lake means you have always somewhere to take the kids for a walk when they are playing up.

Nationality, creed, religion, sexual tendencies (discounting kiddy-fiddlers), favourite colour, football-team, favourite film, whether they're left-handed or right-handed and whether like they to take a piss with the loo-seat up or down are totally irrelevant as I like to think that people are people and discriminating against them because of their national origin is fuelling the fires of xenophobia and small-minded-ness.
