Best place for a gas fitter/engineer in Australia

Hi all, me and my family are just about to lodge our visa application once it is open again and wondered if anyone knew where the best place for my experience is. I am a plumber/gas fitter/engineer, i carry out all types of plumbing and heating works here in the UK and am qualified in natural gas, lpg, oil, unvented cylinders etc.
Where is the most likely place for me to get work, we have currently been looking at Perth?
Would it be better to do a electrical part p qualification here before i lodge the application?
What is the current average wage for my trade?
I also have a degree and have read on a couple of threads that you must undertake courses in tafe to be able to set up your own plumbing business?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, dont do anymore courses in the UK as you will be wasting your time and money, Im in melbourne and have my registration now but im still doing exams for all sorts, you have to do a course here before you can get your license and thats a pain on its own. where are you heading/

Hi there. If you do a job search on seekau for gas fitters you will see where the jobs are. My OH has the same qualifications. We were looking at queensland for our move. I believe that each state is different with regards to transfering your quals. After reading a few threads on her I understand that in queensland you take in your corgi quals and they will transfer them to there equivalant. I'm not sure if you have to work supervised for a pperiod of time first tho.
The info on here varies greatly regarding this area of work. Hope you get sorted soon.

:)
