BEST PLACE TO BUY A 4X4 Nr BRISBANE?
Hi, thinking of getting a Mitsubishi challenger for about the $20k mark when we arrive in Brisbane. Where is the best place to find one? Ive seen a thread about some long road full of car dealerships in the Golg Coast somewhere, whats this area called and are there any other garages people would recommend for a good 4x4?? Thanks Pete (still not there yet, house sale what a long wait to get your contract date!!! )

The southern end of Ipswich Road at Moorooka is about a mile of caryards. There is Mitsubishi dealership at the Toowong roundabout at Milton Road/Western Freeway, about 6-8kms out of the CBD.
Just found this 2004 model for $25k:

What about getting a v6 petrol because they are cheap at the moment and getting it converted to run on LPG. That way you are quids in on the price of the car and the fuel.
How much would it cost to convert?
I have a Toyota Surf at the moment and wanted something similar in OZ so it sounds like a good time to buy.
The Oil price won't stay up this high forever-I hope.

The only cars I have driven (being a mechanic) have had 2 tanks, you have to start it on petrol then switch over to LPG once the engine has warmed up. Not very clued up on the subject really mate. They have a pic of a Holden Jackaroo with the tank fitted under the car so takes up no extra room. I think the change from petrol to Gas is automatic on the modern systems.
