Best Family Car?

We have three young boys, and looking to find best car/combi/truck (whatever you call those big vehicles in oz). Anyone suggest the best ones? We are looking for a range between £5,000-£10,000. BTW don't tell me too much jargon, not car literate yet :p . Thanks for any help.

Not sure what you are talking about - are you looking for a car or a combi or a truck? (or do you mean a 4WD? )

I am looking for something with enough size to fit my three boys in comfortably. I looked at a web page and quite liked some of the people carriers. Although could not decide between Hyundai and Kia?

People carriers are not as common in Oz as in the UK. Resale value is not good, not a problem if you intend to hang onto it til it dies ;), but most people want to trade it in after 3 or 4 years.

In general family cars out here are things like Ford Mondeos (or Falcons), Holden Commodores, Mitsubishi Magnas & Toyota Camrys. There are a large range of smaller cars as well like Astras, Mazdas (1 & 3 ranges) & Ford Focus just to name a few but they are probably too small unless your kids are very young.

My only other suggestion is to consider the manufacturer seriously, cars like Kia, Hyundai, Daewoo & most of the other cheap asian manufacturers dont hold their value at all & also the workmanship is somewhat shoddy compared to something like a Toyota or Holden. They look fine when new but compare a 5 year old Camry with a 5 year old Hyundai & the poor quality becomes apparent.
