Ah, I didn't go that far tonight - got transported home in someones car after a very strong garlic-flavoured curry, so I now carry on drinking here till I keel over asleep (about 10 minutes time I reckon!)

Got to agree with most on here. Coopers is good - I like the Sparkling and love the Vintage (when you can get it) which is 7.5% or something like that.
I also like the Squires. Not too keen on the Pilsner but I am partial to the Amber Ale - it reminds me of Old Speckled Hen.
Boags Strongarm Bitter is OK too - slightly less expensive than the others above.
I also usually try and have something in the house that is lighter as I find all the beers that I have listed are not so good for quenching thirst on a hot afternoon - so one of the lager type beers (Cascade) or one of the mid strength beers.

Then there is my home brew - made from Coopers kits. Real Ale is the best one I have made so far.

As for the European beers, there are definitely outlets where it can be got - there is a bar in North Sydney somewhere that does Belgian beers - but I think you pay through the nose.

Cheers,

DagBoy
