Best beer!
OK, I'm sure someone has done this before on the Forum but....
What's the BEST beer you've ever had in Australia??
Last year I was there for 6 weeks and I reckon I tried every type in QLD and NSW (apart from local brewery stuff of course). The majority of them tasted clean, but pretty tasteless. The best I found were James Boags Premium, and Squires Amber Ale. Anybody else know any good ones?
I know I'm going to miss my strong European beers when I go over there. Does anybody know if you can get Leffe or Hoegaarden over there, or something similar?

Coopers Pale was probably my fave, and sparkling was nice too.
That XXXX stuff was just as nasty as it is over here though.....

Leffe and San Miguel are my favorite summer BBQ beers over here. And i like a nice ale too. Spitfire is great!

My favourite's in Oz are Tooheys Dry & Coopers Pale, most of the rest (XXXX, VB etc) are rank.

Yeah, I distinctly recall downing far too many ice cold glasses of VB while we were there. Not bad stuff on a hot day!!!

As a man who enjoys fine English ales I was worried about beer quality in Oz but it wasn't so bad. The best is probably the range that Coopers produce, easy to get in South Australia.

Don't bother with Boags (northern Tas), get yourself a decent bottle of Cascade premium (southern Tas)....nectar of the Gods.... what I'd do for one right now.........
