Belly button piercing

Strange title i know but can anyone tell me what Perth schools attitudes are to belly button piercings?

My eldest daughter (15 in a few weeks) wants to get her belly button pierced and as much as i don't like the idea i know that she will only get it done anyway. I'd therefore rather her do it with my blessing (and also gain me some much needed brownie points) than find that she's had it done anyway. All her current friends have had it done for a while now so i'm surprised we've held off till now.

Back to the question: are 15 year old girls allowed to have their bellies pierced and what are schools reactions? will she have to have it removed during lessons?

She hates the idea of moving to Oz, she'll hate it even more if they won't let her have her belly pierced.

Regards

Mark

I can't see why they're care. It'll be covered by her uniform anyway.

I know the uniform will cover it for most of the time; I was just wondering if anyone out there has a daughter that has also had it done and whether the girl feels "out of place" or that there are many girls in Perth who've had it done.
Many years ago my uncle always laughed at us when we said that our girls had been a "pain" he would say "you've not experienced anything yet... you wait till they are teenagers"
He wasn't wrong.... and my girls are little angels compared to our friends girls

I'm sure there are plenty of British expat males on this forum who would be quite happy to investigate the navels of Perth's 15 year old girls and report to you with their findings.

It depends on which school and their code of conduct. My daughter goes to state school and there is no restriction on piercings or hair colour. (15 year old daughter currently sporting purple hair) Next year she is going to a different state school where there is a limit on some things like facial piercings. Her friend goes to a private school where there are no piercings allowed, no makeup, hair must be a natural colour, no nail varnish, boys must have hair no longer than a #3 cut, etc.

As for do many have it done? I think facial piercings are more common at the moment, but there are still a fair few with belly rings.

Well, you have to have somewhere to hang the air freshener.......

Just be glad they grow out of it, daughter is now 21 and only wears ear rings she had so many facial piercings it made her look like she'd fallen head first into a fishing tackle-box

My son wanted an eyebrow piercing and I told him absolutely no holes in his face. When he's either 21 or out of my house (which ever comes later) he can have a tattoo where it will be hidden by his clothing.

Thankfully my daughter's biggest rebellion is the purple hair thing and that's not permanent colour.
