Unhappy Is this the beginning

Dropped my son at Heathrow last night for an Emirates flight to Auckland, he wants to have a look at Victoria Uni (Wellington).
I feel terrible today, thought I forgot to tell him that all the transfer's are local time, what if he wanders off at Singapore airport, forgot to tell him to turn off his phone to conserve the battery. Forgot to tell him about the free transfer bus at Auckland.
I know he is not a baby but it's the first time he has flown anywhere by himself and it is so far!
Worse still am now thinking what if he does want to go to Uni in Wellington and we are still in England, it's so far and I will feel like I have lost my son at 18.
Anyone else left an 18 year old behind in UK or like us the other way around?
Am I just one of those over protective, nurotic mothers.
Miserable Kaz
