Beer Can Chicken - The ultimate barbie
Combine your love of beer and chicken at your next barbecue. Called beercanning, its a different but tasty way to cook a chook in a Weber.
How in the world: remove the innards from a whole raw chicken. take two swigs from a favourite can of beer and place it in the chicken's stomach cavity instead of stuffing. Stand it up on the barbecue and cook as normal. The beer will fizz out and marinate your bird.
Worthy praise : "It sounds mad, but it really does work", insists celebrity chef Iain Hewitson.
Variations on a theme : Choose any fowl and canned drink for such meals as pineapple juice quail, beer can turkey or duck a la fanta.
Toxin-free : American grilling guru Steven Raichlen says his research has shown ink, chemicals or metal from the cans will not leach into the meat.

I read the thread subject 'beercan chicken' and thought it was going to be about a bacon chicken dish from the Caribbean.
If you're wondering what I'm on about, say 'beercan' aloud.

Quite fancy pigeon al la pepsi!!!
Although how would you get a large can of pepsi in a pigeon????
Suppose you would have to use the ones you get on the plane!!
The beer one would be no good with my husband cos I doubt he could only take 2 sips and then put the rest in the chicken!!!!
Once he's had a taste he just keeps going and going - he'd be pi**ed and we'd just have the chicken for dinner!!!
