Pig and Whistle, Eagle St Brissy does a wicked pint of Old Speckled Hen on draught. Great food, good atmosphere and a really good night out .

Any other pubs do decent british beer on tap?

Seconded ... and if you're passing that way then you might as well head up Tamborine Mountain and visit the distillery ... you won't regret it

Not tried that one, we are gathering a nice collection of bottles though, very ornate they are too ... have to get some supplies in for the festive season ... keep the cold out and all that ...

Ta ... seemed to work ... then I searched for a bottle of JD and it totally ignored the (large chain) bottle shop just up the road.

Good idea but not to be relied upon ...

Re: Beer

Hi all,
Went to a beer festival in Hobart last Saturday and lots of lovely beers.
One of the best there and it was served on Handpump is Two Metre Tall http://www.2mt.com.au/
They have stockist on the mainlad of there bottled beer, And in a few pub's they are going to be serving it via Handpump, One of the pubs is the COCK & BULL BRITISH PUB, Launceston.
I am looking at planning a fortnightly trip to this pub on Thursday evenings.( Maybe get a mini expats meeting there every couple of weeks) Starting a week on Thursday as in Melbourne this Thursday.
Hope this helps people with there love for British beer.
Gary
