There's a few in the Rockingham area on this board, I will be heading to Rockingham myself on 16th Jan. Mandurah's quite a nice place, we have been down to the mall there a few times, and also to Mandurah Markets. Have you been to the dog track at Silver Sands at all?

Aways hard leaving friends and family my wife has a brother already here but I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters, but once you arrive there so much to do you dont have time to think, but its a great time. We always have the turkey and all the trimmings, does'nt feel like christmas without the turkey, gets a bit hot though, it was 41 degrees C. couple of years ago, you just crank up the air con if we are inside. Make the most of the beer though the aussie beer is not as good) if you like crabs Mandurah a good place to be, go and catch your own, as well as prawns, shame your not here for the crab fest, I think you will love it as much as we are loving it here
Went back to the uk for the first time in 5 years in september and it all looked so small and I forgot just how small the roads are, not used to all those cars parked in the curb dont get any of that herel, and everything seemed covered in a layer of dirt and dust

We are about 10 minutes or so in the car from Silversands, past through halls head quite a bit.

Hoping to be in Palm Beach, Safety Bay or near the shopping mall. I like the feel of Rockingham, although a suburb of a large city it has a small town feel to it, friendly and easygoing. I love the beach at Palm Beach, the little pavement cafes at Rockingham, everything about it really. Last time I was in Mandurah we sat outside a little cafe that specialises in omelettes and watched a dolphin that had come in close to where the theatre is.

Nice area, some really nice houses on the coast there, I think a lot of people from the uk choose Rockingham, they have a nice park just opposite the pavement cafes great for the kids, there shopping mall is bigger than Mandurahs Forum or should I say centro asa they are in the middle of changing the name, quite often see the dolphins in and around the canals dont think there can be a better place to live, with so many different towns to choose from

i was told their going to build a big marina or some big complex at rockingham and also with the railway line going to thomas street by 2006 things are really going to build up

you cant buy a plot of land for under 150000 down in secret harbour now its cheaper to buy a house already built

and there are some nice ones found a house backing on to the golf course 5 bed 2 bathroom nice big swiming pool in the back garden for $340000 the other day give it 10 years and this property is going to be worth a mint

im going to rent for 6mths and then see what things are doing

They have been talking about a marina, but no firm plans as yet,Rockingham was a bit upset when they discovered the railline was not going through the town, in the 5 years we have been hear so much has changed Mandurah had certainly grown.

House prices as well as land have been going made over the last few years, but with interest rates now on the way up I can see a bit of a slow down, although compared to the eastern states property here is really cheap.

Good idea to rent and have a good look around there are some bad areas anywhere you live, best to try and find out what they are Beaware of the golf courses though I know a few people who constantly get golf balls through windows or damaging roof tiles

I know what renters are like I have repainted quite a few and know what sort of state they can be left in

Know what you mean still does,nt feel like christmas and we have been here a few years bet your used to it being freezeing cold and the central heating on full bore in the uk I know we did,but you will soon get used to it I dont think you can get a better way of life, if your husband ever wants to try golf I'm looking for someone to learn with , now saying that bet he is a golf pro))
