Talking Bed and Breakfast business in Queensland

Hi,

We are waiting for our visas to come through - applied late September 2001 - so still a few months to go yet!
We are heading for Queensland and long term plans involve running our own bed and breakfast. Can anyone give us any advice on the best way to go about finding a suitable property, does anyone have any experience of starting a new business in Oz. My boyfriend does have experience in this kind of business so that isn't a problem, but we are open to any advice given as regards who to see and where to start.
Thanks in anticipation.

We were in the Brisbane area earlier this month and we saw quite a few businesses for sale with the local estate agents. There is usually one that specialises in businesses in each area.
Look in the local freebie paper as well, they often have businesses for sale in them, or properties that you could buy.

Good luck!!

Sometimes it can be more rewarding personally and financially to start your
own B & B, once you enter the market to purchase an existing B & B you pay a
premium for an established business that you may be capable of achieving
yourself within a relatively short period of time, admittedly when you buy
an existing business you also get the benefit of existing custom and name
but any person who plans properly can overcome this especially if you do not
wish to outlay excessive amounts....
