I wonder what the stats show for all of the families who have appeared in the WDU shows since 2007. How many took the plunge and of those how many are happy they did it. As a guess I reckon it's likely to be 50/50 and of those 50/50 again. In other words 25% success.

And why isn't there a Canada/US equivalent of WDU?

Off topic but they pull a show after a few episodes, or suddenly move it to another day of the week with no warning, then start it ten minutes late.
Then the Neanderthal f###wits bleat that fewer and fewer people are watching commercial TV.

I've just bought one of those smart tv "dongles" and my TV will be used for watching ABC, SBS and movies on Netflix, YouTube, etc.

I think the incompetent tv planners here in Australia are determined to shoot themselves in the foot. Their struggle to cram the evening with adverts, badly timed and repeated to the point you switch off and put on a dvd or record so you can fast forward them later. It would not take much to make it semi acceptable.

The other night my wife said to our kids ok go and brush your teeth at the next adverts and it seemed to be about 20 minutes, in Australia she would hardly be able to finish the sentence :D

Why bother?

Best solution is not to watch in the first place

OK, so we have gone from UK TV to Australian TV???? :)
As for WDU I would also be interested in some statistics on the success of those relocating. Firstly the success in securing a property to BUY and secondly in coming to terms with the cost of living which they would not grasp whilst on a short visit. Aside from the point that most of the wives want to have a pool in the garden and be within walking distance of the best school in the area so that their little sweethearts Sebastian and Tiara can 'grow' :)

We watched an episode this morning but dont know what series it was. A couple with 2 kids wanting to move to Adelaide. It was very typical, they wanted a better life for their kids and to somehow have more family time. He was a teacher and they sent him to an expensive private school where they told him he would earn £20,000 a year more than the UK, because of the exchange rate. They were told they could go down to the beach every day and would magically be able to spend more time with their kids. They all voted for Australia but my wife read the follow up and they didnt make the move. I think many people sit back and look at the facts and figures in the cold light of day and realise the dream is just that, a dream and not reality.
