Plus I think I explained chippies wages are not regular its all contract to contract, Be prepared to compete with a lot of other licenced and experienced men for jobs.

You have 6 people in your family I would also cost up airfares, we recently had to go to UK twice in a year, for the 2 trips for just 4 of us cost $19,000, thats just airfares, cheapo airlines at that:

I think with a family your size it would be well worth checking if it is as fantatic as you think, but dont get sucked in by the big car/boat/house mode. Think what life will be like 6 months on in aussie dollars, when working in some godawful temperature, doing the same old house/kids/work routine but quite possibly on less money or with no family backup, thats when you know if you like australia or not.

yes we all know its starting again and its good to hear there are positive and negative sides to going but at the end of the day its all down to individual circumstances and needs if you want it that badly you can make it work. by the way were a family of 8 and i know it wont be cheaper things will work out probably around the same in the end what you dont pay as much for one thing you will for another.
oh is a plumber gasfitter working 60 hours per week at least im working for bt yes both good wages but no quality of life its a choice isnt it not as good money but better quality of life which would appeal to you more?
im off to oz if i never try i will never know ive tried this way of life for the last 38 years it isnt going to get any better in uk believe me so now im willing to try another type of life and good luck to me i say
