BBC iPlayer in Oz?

Hi There,

Does anyone have any advice or experience of how to get BBC iPlayer in Oz? I've looked online but not sure how to go about it, plenty of content about proxy server settings and the like but it's all a bit beyond me!

Not sure which sites to trust and it seems a little more complicated as I have a Mac. Does anyone have any tips that will help me over come this?

Thanks.:)

Down load expat shield. When you run this software it gives you an IP address as if you were in the UK. You can then play BBC and ITV content. The only down side is the adverts, but if you turn expat shield off when you don't need it then it is a small price to pay.

Is it as totally free as they say?! And can it be used on the iPad?

Expat Shield does not have a Mac version.

Sure is, it's facking annoying if you leave it on too ... it's easy enough to enable for a quick blast of iPlayer though.

Sorry, never used to Mac ... you may want to post in The Lab ...

Someone is using a Firefox add-in here but I have no experience of it:

(edit) I have experience now, it doesn't work.

It inserts things into Google searches and seems to want to display another page occasionally with all kinds of rubbish including video that plays automatically ... you don't want it on all the time ...

http://www.hideipvpn.com/

I pay for the service but there is a free account which will give you a UK IP.
