Default Banks what are the best..............

.................for paying wages in to and having a savings account running at the side?

Looked at Westbank, are there many in Brisbane?

Any thoughts or recommendation please.

We have opened one from the Uk with ANZ, there have been alot of threads on Banks recently if you do a search they should all come up, seemed that ANZ scored very highly and to be honest they have been brilliant so far!!

Thanks Toon,
I'm with ANZ at the moment in NZ, just thought I'd ask the question to see if they were as good in Oz. Didn't want to mention there name !

I'll open an account with them then

Thanks

Ian

For savings accounts you can't beat Bank West Telenet saver, currently paying an unbeatable 6.6% and likely to go up after today's interest rate announcement:

http://www.abetterdeal.com.au

HSBC is a good bank too for day to day banking. Both accounts are fee free unlike the true blue Aussie Rip off banks. (Bank West is owned by Halifax/Bank of Scotland BTW)

The ANZ are fantastic! They were very helpful, courteous and professional at every juncture.

Nice one Renth
I'll look in to Bank West more, are they in Brisbane as well or are they just WA.

The Telenet account is designed purely as an online/telephone account so it doesn't matter where in Australia you are. You also need a linked account which can be any bank - to deposit and withdraw funds from the savings account.
