Banks
is it possible to open up a bank before you leave. We will be in Brisbane on Monday. And would like to set a bank account up if we can. Any help greatly appreciated

Yes, you should be fine.
You can open an account with ANZ, Westpac and Commonwealth from the UK, so I doubt you'll have any problems.
One thing to bear in mind is that bank accounts incur monthly fees here, so make sure you have cash in it to cover them until you come out for good.
