Bank account on validation trip?
Hi
Can anyone tell me if you are allowed to open a bank account when you are on your visa validation trip (i.e. have not yet moved permanently)?
If you can, what documents do you need?
Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks!

We are hoping to open an account in February.
As far as I know all that's needed is passports....I maybe wrong !!!

Do make an appointment - don't just wander in and hope some girl will know what to do!
Take passports, and any other financial accounts you have - UK statements, pay slips, rates demands, bills etc. You may not need them but then again you might.
You do have to have an Oz address, and here a bit of creative thinking can be required: a friend or something. It will be changed anyway when you arrive but they have to have somewhere.
