Ballarat Anyone?
 

Hi, Life has thrown a bit of a curve ball...so moving from Worcester UK, via a spell in Norwich and Burgh... back to Australia..i can afford to settle in a regional area, Ballarat is looking good...any advice?

Bit like the curates egg. It's ok, close enough to Melbourne to commute, reasonable shopping, some good private schools, few nice restaurants, extremes of temperature- last year it was 41C one day we were there and 13C the next - that was January, it gets bloody cold in winter! The DH is a Ballarat boy and some of the inlaws still live there. They seem happy enough - the younger generation have tended to move on to Melbourne or even further afield. The niece says that there is a fair bit of drug use (she's a paramedic) but that's true in many country towns.
