Same here. SA were great. Hadn't arranged anything before we got to the airport and once the young lady on check-in found out we were migrating on a 457 she waived the fees for us. (Every case was a bit over 30kg) Don't be like us though and wait until you get to the ariport:rolleyes: try and get it sorted beforehand.

Generally you will find that the baggage allowance does not increase for PR visa accross most airlines. It does not make any difference to the airline if you are PR or not.

What does make a difference is how full the plane is, how much fuel that they have taken on board and who is checking you in and how good you are at looking like someone who needs help.

It is unusual for you to be charged for extra allowance for a good 10-15kg over the airline limit. Bear in mind that there is a possibility that you could be charged if the flight is full.
