Hey everyone...
Sorry - did quite make it on line yesterday. I'm afraid the news from this end is not good. It has been confirmed that my mum has both breast cancer and bone cancer, as we'd all feared. This being Jersey, things are sprinting ahead - CT scan this week, off to Guernsey for a bone scan next Weds, seeing the specialist in two weeks' time for the final verdict.
Yesterday was easily the worst day of my life. Just getting my dad into the hospital was a bit of a struggle and he spent most of the time before the appointment slumped over a radiator and funny shade of green. But they went in and I joined them for the talk with the Special Care Breast Nurse.
At this stage, they just don't know how far things have gone and whether the cancer has spread elsewhere. But it's safe to say that we have a real struggle on our hands.
So, that's the news. I've been so busy that I've barely stopped to think about it. In a way, things are better now that we know - a weird relief of sorts, I suppose. I've never seen my mum so low though, which is hard. Harder still to cope with my dad who has gone to pieces. And the worst moment was having to ring my younger brother to tell him. Not an experience I care to repeat in a hurry, so there had better be better news in a fortnight.
And just as we walked in from the hospital, the garage rang to say that my car is officially beyond repair. A good day all round, then.
Anyway, continued thanks for all your support and I will try to get round to your emails and PMs as soon as I can.
Go hug your mothers/fathers/brothers/sisters/wives/husbands/children.
And please will someone have a word with the Big Man upstairs for me?!

We are all rooting for you and your family Bundy. It must be so difficult, some of us know what you are going through but I'm sure I'm right when I say that every single person on this board is thinking of you more than once throughout the day.

Bundy,
know there's nothing we can really say at a time like this. Both Chris & I have been through similar experiences with both our fathers and know how devastating this is for you.
Chin up, but if you want to have a good old bawling and ranting session - do it, even if its just you and an empty room. It does help you to cope.
Medicine is amazing these days and it seems like your mum has be diagnosed fairly early, so that a help.
Take care

Oh Bundy!
I am so sorry for your bad news.
My thoughts are with you and your family at the moment. Hang in there, be brave. Hope a more positive outlook arrives in a couple of weeks.

all the best. Bundy: remember that spirit that got you out of bed to muster, to do all those things you did on the property. If anyone can cope with it, you can.
Good luck
