Back from paradise
Hello all,
We've been reading around the forum for a while now, the wife and I, and we've picked up lots of good information from here and felt it was about time we joined in with our story.
We're playing the waiting game at present - visa application sent Jan '05 for a skilled ind. (136), non-MODL, no meds or police records requested as yet. Probably looking at mid to late 2005 for any decision.
In February, we took ourselves and our 2 boys (6 and 2 y.o.) out to Aus for a whistlestop tour around Sydney...Jervis Bay..Merimbula...on to Melbourne...the Great Ocean Road...Port Campbell...Adelaide...so many beautiful places, so little time. We stared longingly out of the plane window as it left Sydney runway heading back to the UK, wondering when will it be our time to come back, for good.
It's a long way off....but we're getting there, and the memories from that trip are giving us the positive energy we need to wait while this happens for us. We've read lots of timelines on here, and some have had a tough wait, and we're prepared for that.
Meanwhile, life here goes on.... the sun was out at the weekend, and Wales won the Six Nations Rugby. I even got the barbie out of the shed ready for summer Now thats wishful thinking..?!?!

Adelaide is beautiful. It's in a wonderful setting, nestled under Mount Lofty, the city looks almost embedded in trees from a distance.

The vibe of the city is like no other, relaxed and proud of itself. Not as hectic or in a hurry as Sydney or Melbourne,
Further out, Brighton and Glenelg are just wonderful spots if you like the beach and need to hang out for an afternoon without being too far from town. The properties at Hallett Cove caught our eye too.
We really enjoyed Adelaide and was one of our favourite stops on the holiday.
