Default BA or Emirates?

Hi,
We're returning to the UK - trying to figure out who to fly home with.
We flew out with Emirates..couldn't fault them..never flown with BA/Qantas.

BA are cheaper - but 4hrs more travel..plus an additional flight (we have a 3yo & 1yo)
However - BA leaves 15:30....Emirates leaves 22:30 (by which time we'd be on our way to London with BA).

Also - husband is a Qantas frequent flyer - might get 1 business class upgrade (which I'd use of course, lol).

So what do you reckon. Cheaper (but longer) journey with BA...or slightly more dearer (but with one less flight) with Emirates.

We've always had great flights with Emirates - very clean, great service, good food - every bit worth the extra dosh. Would fly with them over BA or Qantas. BTW saw on the news that Australians have just voted Qantas as the worst international airline!

Who are you getting your flights from? direct with the airline or through an agency?

Have you had a look at singapore airlines?

Quotes I've checked so far are with the airline direct...are there cheaper agencies?
Re Singapore Airlines - means another flight I guess.
I think most folk are right with the Emirates suggestion - 1 stopover only is better with 2 kids in tow. I reckon the connecting flight at London would kill us after a 14hr flight from Singapore

Emirates, without question. 22:30 is a great time to leave with kids, ours went to sleep. Plus why travel for 4 hrs longer and do an extra flight with kids as well. Altohugh I guess it depends on how much cheaper BA is!

Malaysian are offering cheap flights to the UK at present from what I can see and offer the best legroom in economy together with only 1 change. Just an idea.

Hi
I am looking around for flights to the UK as well, so just wondered where you were thinking of buying the flights from. I don't know of any cheap agencies, all the prices I have seen so far a all very similar. Sometimes direct with the airline seems just as cheap, strange, as I am sure that never used to be the case.

Where are you flying from?
The emirates flights from Brisbane are done in three legs.
Eg Brisbane - Singapore, Singapore - Dubai, Dubai - London.

Not sure if this is true of all of the Australia-UK routes.

All the best

I just got a cheaper quote with http://www.bestflights.com.au

We're flying Perth-Dubai-Glasgow...most direct route for us. One way prices are shocking at the moment..was told they're not much less than for return flights. We're buy 4 seats - 2 adults..2 children...cheapest with Emirates is $6100
