All I know is, hubby went last week, 1 temp filling,1 x-ray & check up was about $180. He will need to go back in about 6 months for a route canal & that will be about $900 :scared:
I went yesterday, had check-up, polish & 2 x-rays, mine was $185. I need to go back for 2 fillings, which will be approx $120 each
We don't have private health cover & as far as I know, we can't claim any of this back from Medicare.
Don't know much else on the subject, but personally I think it's not that much more than it would have been in UK, only bad thing is when we take the kids, we will pay for them, whereas in UK think it's still free til you're 16.
But hey, would rather live here any day

For MOST people, medicare does not cover ANY dental treatment. ie You pay in full as you go, or get private dental cover which covers some but not all of the cost.

Hi, I had one wisdom tooth pulled out in the dentists and it cost $130, a check up was $40, a pain relief impant was $50 then a further 2 wisdom teeth out in hospital was a whopping $1800 of which I could claim $125 back through medicare.
