Smile Australia's newest citizens?

Just wanted to say a hello Hello and Congratulations to DMF and her family - although she doesn't post much now, I know she still reads stuff.

So.....CONGRATS to Australia's newest citizens, Mr & Mrs DMF and the two small DMFs who spent this evening singing (?!!!) the Australian National Anthem and learning how to say "G'day Mate" with an Aussie twang

Really pleased for you all - see you soon

PS Your box of Paxo is on my desk

Thank you my dear - we had a lovely evening.

It was all very informal but I was amazed at the number of people being naturalised - 138 in total. There were 400 of us in the hall what with all the guests too. All very organised. We got called to stand up in turn and say the oath and then presented afterwards with our certificates. Pine Rivers Shire Council also give each recipient a native plant as part of the ceremony. Once it was all over (which took a while as there were 138 of us and we all wanted a photo of course!) we sang the national anthem and were then offered refreshments!

Cheers, Dawn
