Hi

While we are sorting out my visa to emigrate to Aus, my fiancee is thinking of coming over the UK. She was born in the UK but emigrated to Aus 30 years ago and has Australian citizenship.

Can anyone tell me whether she can work while she is over here and if so is there any time limits? (She doesnt need a visa to come and go so I guess she doesnt but i just wanted to make sure.)

She'll be able to get Right of Abode, if nothing else. This grants full work rights without restriction, and means you can go through the EU passport holders gate at the airport!

Forgot to say - the Certificate to the Right of Abode lasts for the life of the passport but can be renewed when the passport is renewed.

Have a look on the British High Commission web site and see if she is eligible for a right of abode or citizenship by descent. What citizenship did her parents hold? Citizenship would entitile her to a UK passport and give her the right to work across the European Union.
