Like all kids that grow up and leave home, they'll be shocked at the costs involved but it's part of growing up. They've been living with mum and dad paying 20 bucks a week house keeping for 200 years, but instead of saving, they've thought they're bullet proof and pissed it up and bought lots of flash toys.
I do however think that waiting for mum to die before leaving would be extremely crass and in bad taste, best do it now so she can look at them with pride knowing they've grown up to be fine young adults

In much the same way when the Royals put on a show everyone looks.
If the Royal household rang up your average person, they would think it cute.

Just countries making their thoughts known to each other - whether or not they're acted upon is up to the recipient country.

In a similar way when China makes an issue out of the Dalai Lama visiting Australia (or any country)? ... Or when Australia puts pressure on the UK government not to quit the EU?

I disagree about the other point though - the other examples may or may not be listened to, but the Windsors, via QE2, have direct, institutionalised influence over Australia,as we have seen demonstrated. Is this right? Frankly, I think I'm getting beyond thinking about it or caring any more.
