Make the most of the uk beers while you can and don't waste time and taste buds on ozzy beers.

Wouldn't touch xxxx either but on a hot day you can't beat a tooheys extra dry.. Vb isn't bad and I've seen that for sale in plenty of ozzy bars in the UK.
If you are heading to perth check out little creatures (brewery/ bar / resteraunt) or sydney check out the nelson in the rocks for a decent home brew.
Heat makes any beer taste good!

XXXX tastes a lot different in Oz (especially at the brewery ) but there are others too. VB is OK, Hahn Premium (but not the Light one), Carlton Draught to name but a few (yes I did sample them all. You've got to haven't you??). There also seem to be plenty of English / Irish theme pubs where I saw Guinness, Tetley and John Smiths on offer. I saw Stella in plenty of places but it's not cheap.

Mr B's favourite is Toohey's New...you can get it in Walkabout pubs and some places in London.

VB is his second favourite, available in some pubs in the UK and sometimes appears in Asda for no apparent reason.

I don't like beer, I like Bundy Rum (obviously ) and you can get that in Threshers.

Thanks, it sounds quite positive! I'm up for trying new beers/lagers so think I will sleep tonight now! - just heard a few horror stories recently from friends that have been to Oz recently.
I may try my super strength home brew out when I get there as a back up plan! Have dabbled in home brew but with no success before. rough stuff but did the job! I take it that you can get the brew kits in Oz also?
Thanks for your replies
Simon

See, I don't like any other rum.....

And if you really want to barf, try a Mud Rum (bundy with half coke, half orange juice)

If you are a Stella fan you will probably like Cascade Premium - made in Tassie, bit cheaper usually than Stella. Can't get it in the UK though, as far as I know so that'll have to wait till you get here. Treat in store
