Default Australian Expatriate Super Fund

Hi guys
It’s been a looong time since I posted (had to set up a new account as old email address no loners active 😁)
Been here for 17 years now and time to think about the long holiday called retirement πŸ‘

As the title says - anyone used AESF to move their UK pension pot over?
Happy to hear good and bad.
Cheers.

Yes I have. I had a somewhat complex situation and had funds I wanted over here but did not want to /could not put them into my existing SMSF. This fund was recommended to me as a means of getting the money over here and in AUD. They are not cheap, but at the time were the only approved fund to receive UK transfers. The process is pretty straightforward and I managed to arrange it myself online. Around 2 years later, when I qualified for a condition of release, I closed the fund and withdrew the money. It was all relatively painless. You get to choose your investments and you can arrange to keep the funds in GBP if you wish. They have good website reporting and access.

Hi, did you end up proceeding? I am 3/4 of the way through the process and am finding the paperwork a bit of a nightmare- mostly from the UK pension side.
